Tides: letting in, sending out'

For two years, we periodically lived in our own bubble. Contacts with others had become risky. We kept our distance, our faces hidden behind a mouth mask. Opinions were outspoken. What did life do to people during the pandemic and what did it to you?
Did you turn inwards and get closer to yourself? Were you lonely and afraid or angry and rebellious? Could you remain curious about the other person, and did you look for a connection?

Artists often work in silence. They create images from their own perspective. Focused on the self, the other, the world, the future. In this exhibition, all these perspectives come together. ‘Tides: letting in, sending out’.

The exhibition shows recent work of sixteen artists. It was curated and organised by Fleur van den Berg, Jacqueline Bohlmeijer, Ellen Klijzing and Mieke de Waal.
